Wangoi Karuga

Wangoi Karuga is a Partner within the Firm’s tax department with over nine years’ experience. Wangoi is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a qualified accountant with ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants). She holds a Bachelor of Laws LL. B, from the University of Nairobi and a Post Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law. Wangoi is also a member of the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries, Kenya and a member of ACCA.

Prior to joining the Firm, Wangoi was a Senior Associate at the prestigious firm of Anjarwalla & Khanna. Before joining Anjarwalla and Khanna, Wangoi was a Senior Tax Advisor at KPMG East Africa in Kenya where she began her career in tax compliance and advisory and was there for six years.

On an international front, Wangoi was seconded to the KPMG London office where she provided international tax advisory services specific to real estate market in the UK. Wangoi has vast experience in regional and international tax law which includes experience in handling tax disputes, tax transactional matters, tax advisory and structuring, tax compliance and tax due diligence and optimization, as well as commercial law aspects such as reorganization, mergers, and acquisitions.
